Many of us have questioned if the Bible is trustworthy. We wonder if the Bible sometimes is an old book that doesn’t match up with real life. Voltaire, a French Enlightenment writer, believed that the Bible was useless and good only for kindling a fire. He was a heavy critic of Christianity, and said that the Bible would be an outdated book and only seen be in museums in the 1700s. However, the Bible still exists and is not in museums. Even though the Bible exists, is it trustworthy? Can we believe it?
The Bible is the most published book of all time. It is the best selling book of all time. It has broken so many records that it is not even counted anymore by most publishing companies. Have you ever wondered how the Bible went from papyrus scrolls to actual beautiful leather-bound books in our hands that we carry to church? Have you ever wondered if that book you hold in your palm that says “Holy Bible” is the original text that the Apostles and Prophets wrote? What is the process of publishing the Bible? I hope to answer these questions today.
The Bible consisting of 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,173 verses, and 757,444 words certainly has enough content for people to wonder if it all is truth and the pure Word of God. It is not a unique thing to wonder if the Bible is true. It has happened to the best of saints at times. Even Billy Graham, the most famous and successful evangelist in church history, wondered if the Bible was trustworthy for a season. However, whenever you’re struggling with doubt about the Bible and its authenticity, it is best to behave like the Berean Jews (Acts 17:11), see if what you’ve been told is true.

He is the Only True God
We are living in a world whereby people have many objects of worship. We at times have given other things the place that only God deserves in our lives. God is no longer at the center of our lives. Below devotional guide will help you to give God his rightful place in your life.
In the Gospel of Mark we have, a parable given by Christ called the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:1-9; 13-20). In the third chapter of Mark Jesus is being rejected in various capacities both by his family (Mark 3:21,31-35) and the religious leaders (Mark 3:22-30). The parable of the soils seems to give an explanation as to why there were was some rejection and confusion of Jesus. He has done many miracles in front of these groups such as healing the withered man’s hand (Mark 3:1-6) and he healed many of diseases & demons (Mark 3:9-11). Despite this he was not well received & flat out rejected due to the soil of their hearts. Some hearts were hearts that loved the temporal and deceitful things of this world (Mark 4:19) and other hearts did not full receive Jesus, because their hearts where never transformed (Mark 4:17).
A story is told of a man who walked into a store. He noticed a parrot in a cage hanging near the entrance, the man looked at the parrot, and the parrot looked at him. The parrot said, “You are such an ugly person.”
The man could not believe what he had heard, alarmed he shouted, “What?”
The parrot repeated, “You are such an ugly person.”
Now even angrier, the man shouted again, “What?”
For the third time, the parrot casually said, “You are such an ugly person.”
Fired up, the man walked straight to the owner of the shop and complained about the unbecoming behavior of the parrot. The shop owner took the parrot out of the cage and spanked it and warned it never to say such things to a customer again. Contented, the man went on to do his shopping and paid for his stuff. As he was walking out, he turned and looked at the parrot, the parrot looked at him and said,
You are constantly on the move, surrounded by people and involved in activities. How can I have a word with you? There is truth I want to show you, amazing things I want to share, but you’ll never hear my voice unless you are willing to slow down and listen, to open the Bible and read. For three years, the disciples spent each day alone with my Son, Jesus…
