WHY THE UNENDING BATTLES?
Christian history is one of warfare. Once you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and savior, you enrolled yourself in the army of the Lord. The reasons why we have been in constant warfare since the church began is because:
NATURE OF OUR MISSION
First of all, the quality of our mission calls for war: that is the mission of delivering people from the dark kingdom into the kingdom of light (Acts 26:16-18). The enemy will not let us depopulate his domain smoothly. He has to fight to retain his slaves to keep working for him.
OUR WEAPONS ARE DESIGNED FOR SPIRITUAL WAR
It is good to understand that the Christianity faith is the only one that has the right weapons to destroy Satan and his works (2Cor.10:3-6). Our weapons are not like those of the world; on the contrary, they have divine power to demolish (Satan’s) strongholds. Use your armor and become offensive to the dark kingdom.
WE HAVE THE KEY TO LIFE
Our faith is the only key to eternal life (1John 5:9-12). This scripture is clear that it is either you have Jesus in you or not. If you have the Son of God, then you have eternal life and if not then you don’t have eternal life. The way to hell is broad, but the one that leads to life is narrow. Let us fight for the lives of our brothers, sisters, fathers, and mothers. We cannot afford to sit there and watch them go to hell without doing anything about it.
THE WORLD IS A BATTLEGROUND
The world is a battleground for Christians (John 17:13-17). In a battlefield, you have to fight. As long as you are in this world, understand that the enemy will do anything to make you miss heaven. You must declare war and fight until you can confidently say like Paul, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
CHRISTIANS ARE SOLDIERS
2Timothy 2:3-4
Christians are soldiers in battle. The soldiers are the ones who are given war armor. Christians are commanded to put on the full armor of God in Ephesians 6:10. We don’t have a shield to guard your back hence you fight while moving forward. We cannot just hold the armors and wait to die; we have to be offensive also to the dark kingdom.
